ON-CAMPUS - Center Assistant - Betty B. Schantz Tutorial Center - Stevenson Library, 2nd floor

 This is a working position with responsibilities. If you are looking for a job where you are paid to sit and do your homework, do not apply.  You are expected to be mindful of what’s going on in the Center at all times and execute the following responsibilities:

  1. Have minimum 3.0 GPA
  2. Be attentive and welcoming to everyone who comes through the door from the stairway or elevator.
  3. Answer student's questions about tutoring and help them sign up.
  4. Be willing and able to help with class visits, i.e. explain Tutorial Services to the classes.
  5. Take accurate statistics.
  6. Pitch in for cleanliness, e.g.,
  7. straighten chairs and tables
  8. clean whiteboards
  9. make sure markers and erasers are ready to use
  10. Attend occasional meeting, approximately once a month
  11. Be able to execute opening and closing procedures if on either first or last shifts:

M-TH - 9:00-9:00 hourly shifts, Fri. – 9:00-3:00 shifts.
