Center Assistant - Betty B. Schantz Tutorial Center - Stevenson Library, 2nd floor

This is a working position with responsibilities.  If you are looking for a job where you are paid to sit and do your homework, do not apply.  You are expected to be mindful of what’s going on in the Center at all times and execute the following responsibilities:

  1. Be attentive and welcoming to everyone who comes through the door from the stairway.
  2. Answer student's questions about tutoring and help them sign up.
  3. Be willing and able to help with class visits, i.e. explain Tutorial Services to the classes.
  4. Take accurate statistics.
  5. Pitch in for cleanliness, e.g.,
  6. Straighten chairs and tables
  7. Clean whiteboards and make sure markers and erasers are ready to use
  8. Attend occasional meeting, approximately once a month
  9. Be able to execute opening and closing procedures if on either first or last shifts. M-TH - 9:00-9:00 hourly shifts, Fri. – 9:00-3:00 shifts.

ON CAMPUS - **NOW HIRING – STUDENT AMBASSADORS**

The Office of Admissions is now hiring student ambassadors for the fall 2015 semester. Student ambassadors must possess the following qualities/skills:

  • Leadership skills
  • Involvement in campus activities
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
  • Knowledgeable about campus and the surrounding area
  • Cumulative GPA > 2.5

The primary job of a student ambassador is to give comprehensive tours of campus to prospective students and their families. Additionally, student ambassadors are required to be available to work:

  • Ambassador Training (Fall & Spring)
  • 3 Open House programs per semester (8 am-3 pm)
  • Saturday Group Tours (9 am-1 pm)
  • Accepted Student Day

ON CAMPUS - LHU TESTING CENTER SERVICES - Testing Center Administrator/Proctor  

Seeking 4 students to begin training in April.  Must be available this summer and the fall semester.   May NOT be candidates for PAPA, PECT, or PRAXIS examinations in the next 4 years, so no education majors.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The LHU Testing Center Administrator/Proctor will be working as a Part-time Test Administrator / Proctor for our LHU Testing Center Services located in Raub Hall 103 & 106.  

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS: Our ideal candidate demonstrates flexibility and teamwork.  This is strictly a part-time position and will remain as such.  Ability to work test center hours as published and are subject to change with notice

Responsibilities: The Test Administrator/Proctor position is responsible for providing a secure exam delivery and superior customer service in a comfortable friendly environment. A test administrator and proctor… Understands and complies with all testing procedures and maintains certifications required by PearsonVUE and ETS. Checks in examinees, verifies identification, and explains the exam process. Monitors examinees while testing. Maintains a secure testing environment. Communicates with internal departments to investigate and fix technical issues. Strictly adheres to company policies using careful judgment. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Minimum of 1 year customer service experience required. S trong communication skills are a must. Must be flexible in work hours and days. Must be comfortable in a quiet testing environment. Beginner to Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook). High school diploma or equivalent
