ON-CAMPUS - Lock Haven University Department of Facilities is looking for a student worker to be a part of our office staff to offer secretarial support.

ON-CAMPUS - The Student Accounts office has a summer opening for a student assistant (only students interested in summer hours need apply).

The opening would be for office work, filing (a lot of filing), stuffing envelopes and preparing new files.  Answer questions at the student desk and phone.     

The hours for summer would be 25 to 37 1/2 hours depending on work that may need completed.  This is a summer opening and will have fall spring hours according to student’s schedule.

ON-CAMPUS - LHU Tutorial Services is looking for tutors!

Students who wish to become tutors should apply using , filling out the three forms there. Students will then receive an e-mail confirmation of the application and a request for an interview and unofficial transcripts.

Applicants should specify what it is they wish to tutor, if they have a preference, and if they wish to work in the Math Center or Writing Center. On rare occasions, Tutorial Services does hire Center Assistants as well, who handle cleaning and secretarial duties. If you, as an applicant, have no preference of assignment, Tutorial Services will work to find a fit for you!

Tutorial Services hires anytime, as we are always looking for new tutors. Tutors are considered employed with Tutorial Services until graduating, unless they are actively dismissed or leave on their own accord.

Tutorial Services' pay rate is minimum wage for Pennsylvania. Tutors can work as many as 20 hours per week during the semesters and 37.5 hours during breaks.

Students who apply should possess the following:

OFF-CAMPUS - Summer jobs & internships available through Keystone Central School District. 

The Keystone Central School District is currently accepting applications for employment as summer playground supervisors.  Current positions available are in the Lock Haven and Woolrich areas.  These may be morning only sessions which run Monday through Friday from 9:30 to 12 noon.  There are also morning and evening sessions which run Monday through Friday 9:30 – 12 noon and Monday through Thursday 6:00 to 8:00.  The pay is $ 8.25 per hour.  The program starts June 20 and runs to August 12.  

There are also lifeguard positions available at $9.00 per hour.

All these positions can be used as internships provided your major department approves.

A local family is in need of a part time sitter to watch two of their children (2 & 4 years of age), sometimes only to watch one child.  Duties would be to provide both children with a safe environment within their home, meals, engaging in playtime, reading, manners, changing diapers, bedtime and being able to follow our instruction.

General Statement of Overall Job Responsibilities:  In helping provide congregational life and ministry, the Church Pianist’s overall duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: providing for, and assisting in providing vocal and instrumental accompaniment for any and all worship services of the church.  The purpose of the position is to facilitate an atmosphere in which God is worshipped and glorified, and to contribute to the music ministry of the Church by playing the piano for congregational singing, choir and special music presented in worship services. It is a part time staff position with duties primarily on Sundays.


  1. Play for worship service/s, choir rehearsal each week including offertory, prelude and solos.
  2. Play for special services and special choir rehearsals (musical activities such as Christmas, Easter and other special programs.
  3. Congregational singing will be primarily led using the current UMC Hymnal therefore, familiarity with this hymnal is necessary.
  4. Consult with the Pastor or Administrative Council Chair on matters pertinent to piano maintenance.
    Perform duties requested by the Pastor and support all areas of the Music Ministry as needed for Sunday Services.
  6. Keep work areas neatly maintained and organized, presentable and neat at all times.
  7. Providing music for wedding and funerals is not included in the pianist responsibilities
  8. The pianist shall secure a substitute when needed and notify the Pastor in a timely manner.
